"OUR LIVES BEGIN TO END THE DAY WE BECOME SILENT ABOUT THINGS THAT MATTER."

  -Martin Luther King, Jr.

Our Group

We are the Veterans for Peace, of Sheboygan Wisconsin.  We are a Chapter of Veterans for Peace, Inc..  We operate as a 503(c)3 organization, thus all donations made to us are tax deductible.  We thus can't tell you how to vote, but we can tell you the importance of voting!!!

We meet locally, typically every third Monday of the month, check our calendar for meeting and special event details.  We are not affiliated with any church, denomination, or political party.

Veterans for Peace, Inc. includes men and women veterans who served in WW II, Korea, Vietnam, and the past and current Gulf Wars, as well as in peacetime.  Our collective experience tells us that wars are easy to start but hard to stop and the ones hurt are often the innocent.  Thus we promote alternatives to war by addressing the issues of national and international policy.

Members are veterans of any branch of the US military services.  Associate members can be non-veterans and receive all the benefits of membership except voting rights and board capability at the national level.

Whether or not you wish to actively participate in Chapter activities, please consider becoming a member of Veterans for Peace.  We need you to become a part of our united efforts for peace and justice.  Join us today!

Our Statement of Purpose

We, having dutifully served our nation, do here-by affirm our greater responsibility to serve the cause of world peace by applying the concept of engaging conflict peacefully, without violence.  To this end we will work with others to:

bulletIncrease public awareness of the total costs of war.
bulletRestrain our government from intervening, overtly and covertly, in the internal affairs of other nations.
bulletEnd the arms race and to reduce and eventually eliminate nuclear weapons.
bulletSeek justice for veterans and victims of war.
bulletAbolish war as an instrument of national policy.

As members of Veterans for Peace we pledge to use non-violent means to achieve these goals.  All members are trusted to act in the best interest of the group for the larger purpose of world peace.
